Communing With Nature

Now that the birthday is out of the way…

Dirty 30 date night…Wo0t!

…and things are getting ready to kick into high gear (moves and such), we took the day to commune with nature in the swamps of good old southwest Florida.  These are some of the highlights:

Not even sure what kind of insect it is, but it was cool looking…

Trees growing in/on trees; quite the symbiotic relationship

You wouldn’t believe the distance I was from this sunning palette.

All smiles on this Florida sunshine day

This was clear across the slough; thanks little zoom!

A few moments of goofiness before continuing to let the nature come to us!

I really did think he might pounce at any moment.

Clearly a ninja squirrel!

At this point, we thought he might start talking to us…Or, poop!

Taken by my baby, what a good shot!

Turtle Family!

One of the coolest for me during the day; an Anhinga swimming right below us!

Another cool sighting was the herd of wild pigs we saw twice along our walk.

All in all, when walking like the peaceful warrior through the slough, we were able to see almost all of the inhabitants; we saw snakes, piggies, anhingas, egrets, ibis, alligators, turtles, spiders,  squirrels, river otters, and the tracks of lots of others.

Stay tuned for the new construction pics, our own little Brewfest, and perhaps some other randoms from this week!
